About Me

My name is Darryl Izakowitz, and I’ve been trading since 1997, with over 20 years in the futures market. Along the way, I’ve learned that trading success is highly personal.

Every trader sees the market differently. To truly thrive in this industry, we must unlearn bad habits and shift our mindset. It took me years to figure this out. If you’re currently not profitable, you need to ask why. And begin to make changes.

Otherwise, you’ll be out of the trading industry in short order.

The idea behind this newsletter came from my daily preparation, and I’ve included most of what I do before every trade session. Hopefully, you will enjoy it and gain some use from it as well.

Like many of us, I’ve traded so many systems, styles, instruments, time frames, indicators, etc. Trying at first to find an actual trader that became wealthy (because I had doubts that it was truly possible). And then foolishly trying to find the Holy Grail.

I’ve been the most profitable when I traded the market as only I saw it. Not anyone else.

I’m not a math genius. I can’t code or build algorithms. I’m not the engineering type. In fact… I’m much more of an artist and need to visualize what’s occurring in the market.

I’m not a Quantitative. Nor could I ever be.

My trading improved once I focused on trading one instrument. I began to recognize the rotations, the timing, and the art of trading it.

Loads of screen time. Lots of time spent staring - but I was discovering my edge.

Today, I exclusively trade the S&P 500 futures contract (ES) because it typically sees the highest trading volume of any instrument worldwide on a daily basis with the US sessions receiving 2-3 million contracts. It also provides for many highly probable short-term trades (or scalping).

I prefer to actively trade. This means that scalping to reach my daily profit target works best - for me.

I’m also fully discretionary. Trade intraday. And flat overnight.

When I combine:

  • the rhythm and artistry of trading

  • waiting for my low-risk setups

  • following a compounding formula for growing my account

  • scalping to my daily profit target

…then I am using my edge. The Scalper’s Edge!

If any of this jives with you, or you just want to read about my process and ideas, then please subscribe. I would greatly appreciate that. Hopefully, you will discover a path to consistent profits and becoming a high earner.
